Job Description

 

The Managing Director will be responsible for directing the overall operation of the business, aiming to maximize performance, profitability, and return on investment by creating a positive and productive work environment and ensuring excellence in farm and plant operation while adhering to compliance with company standards (Quality, Service, Product, and Distribution).

Optimizes relationships with owners, key stakeholders, management, and other company associates. takes a leading role in promoting the work culture and the values of the company.

  • Guide all departments and senior management / directors in formulating the long-term business plans and preparing the budgets (capital and operational).
  • Liaise between the BOD and Senior Management of the company with its shareholders in finalizing the business plans and approving the budgets.
  • Develop KPIs for all departments and senior management in order to achieve the budgeted targets and adhere to the approved business plans.
  • Monitors the company’s performance and KPIs of all departments and Senior Management, and guides or mentors Senior Management in achieving the agreed KPIs and approved budgets and business plans.
  • Implement the best practices appropriate to the size of the company in managing the farm and plant operations and ensure optimum utilization of assets to maximize returns on investments.
  • Conduct market studies and develop short-term and long-term sales and marketing strategies relating to various products and revenue streams of the company to maximize the revenues and profitability of the company.
  • Ensure the identification of various business risks that hinder the company from achieving its short-term and long-term plans and goals and put forward appropriate strategies for mitigating the identified risks.
  • Provides periodic feedback to the BOD and shareholders on the financial and operational performance of the company and proposes appropriate actions in case of deviation from approved business plans and budgets.
  • Guide farm management to ensure that the herd size is in line with the business plans and ensure that various measures are in place to maintain the herd in healthy condition.
  • Ensures that livestock and product quality standards are maintained and met in all areas of the farm or plant, including physical appearance, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate maintenance of all facilities, including appropriate preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical and biological assets of the company.
  • Oversees the development and execution of marketing plans and revenue management efforts to maximize revenue generation after taking into consideration market shifts, seasonal impacts, and the competitive environment.
  • Oversee the cost management of various processes and formulate strategies for cost reduction.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with key community contacts to ensure a visible presence in the local community. Ensures the handling of community and media-related inquiries in the most effective manner while referring sensitive matters to the BOD and shareholders as appropriate.
  • Maintains a proactive Talent and Culture function to ensure the motivation, training, and development of staff at all levels and their KPIs.
  • Works closely with management to ensure optimum staffing levels relative to volume and productivity levels in all areas of the farm, plant, and distribution. Implement training initiatives and plans to drive efficiencies and enhance performance wherever needed.
  • Ensure appropriate and adequate implementation of the policies and procedures of the company at all levels, and establish an appropriate process to identify any exceptions in implementation.
  • Actively participates in and leads the recruitment and talent development of the company to meet both current and future needs.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in areas related to dairy farming, livestock management, or related areas
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience in managing dairy business operations, including farm, plant, and distribution.
  • At least five (5) years of this experience as CEO or Managing director of a Dairy business.
  • Proven experience as an MD for medium- to large-scale operations
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East will be an added advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of Saudi laws and practices, particularly relating to dairy operations
  • Experience in establishing business goals and strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
  • Ability to act as a change agent and instill confidence and motivation within the team.
