Reports to: Chairman

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensures that the cost and prices of all items purchased by Procurement Department are “economical” while keeping highest standards in quality of all purchases. 
  • Market Research 
  • Ensures that the use of “cash allocations” for any cash purchases are strictly monitored and adhered to. Proper documentation in view of cash purchases, .i.e. submission of original invoices, receipts of purchases are submitted to procurement onward forwarding to Finance Department.
  • Searching about new brands for company's items and new ideas for the company.
  • Coordination with Warehouse department and follow-up with the respective suppliers “on time” delivery of goods and services.
  • Follow-up and report discrepancies and deliveries with respect to the delivery of goods, and decides the best mode of action.
  • Searching new suppliers and develop relationship with suppliers. 
  • Discuss the new contract with the supplier to get to the best conditions and best prices.
  • Develop a Procurement Plan in close coordination with all departments to minimize excessive purchases. 
  • Promote standardization of materials requirement, whenever possible throughout the company.
  • Control and approve the overtime for the procurement staff.
  • Provide the purchasing reports to the top management.
  • Plan and use fruitful sourcing strategies & discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs & negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Prepare and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Examine and test existing contracts.
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries. 

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in Procurement. 
  • At least 5 years experience as Procurement Manager in hospitality industry, particularly in chain of restaurants. 
  • Fluent in Arabic and English languages.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.
  • Talent in negotiations and networking. 
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
