Life At Azibo 

Our team operates fully remotely, spread across the continental US. We have a ‘home base’ in San Mateo, CA where we gather semi-regularly in person to build rapport, have fun, and engage in strategic working sessions. We have common interest groups, Donut Dates, peer recognition programs and a Culture Committee to make sure we connect as humans as well as co-workers. We believe in resting, focusing and recharging, which is why we have things like Open PTO and No Meeting Wednesdays.

Basic Role Details:

• Design, build, and maintain efficient & scalable microservices in Kotlin, Java, & Spring Boot

• Define relational database schemas

• Create technical solutions from product requirements

• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies

• Contribute to peer reviews with thoughtful insights and suggestions

• Communicate engineering concepts and progress to product, marketing, and operations

• Drive innovation in banking, lending, insurance, and property management

Your Impact:

Engineers at startups often wear many hats, so you should expect to make a significant impact across several different verticals and disciplines. Over time, all technical aspects of Azibo from its infrastructure to the product services should become familiar as contributions are made. On some days, you may spend all of your time coding. Others might be spent working with product and design or helping the customer service team diagnose problems. The impact of this role will be felt at all levels of the organization.

What we’ll need from you:

• 1-5 years of full-time software development experience
• Proficiency with OOP principles and familiarity with relational databases
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• A firm sense of responsibility and pride in execution and delivery
• Team player with a positive attitude
• The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your role
• The ability to roll with the punches and be comfortable with ambiguity (we’re a start-up after all!)

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience/familiarity with our core stack: Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot & Postgres
• Understanding of streaming (Kafka) or message queue (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS) technologies
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
• Knowledge of no-sql storage systems like Elasticsearch, MongoDB, DynamoDb etc.
• Experience in Fintech
