The Technical Project Manager (TPM) works closely with Axxys managed services clients and Axxys sales staff in a consulting and planning project resources and capacity. The TPM will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle including client communication, technical resource allocation, and ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met. The PM plays a critical role in removing barriers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on schedule, and on budget for both the client as well as internal resources.
The TPM will work hand-in-hand with the account management team to provide the best possible service delivery and solutions to our clients. It is critical the TPM have a working technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, systems administration, and troubleshooting to ensure effective communication between technical resources, account management, and client expectations to deliver projects effectively.
Ensures effective communication with all stakeholders within a project. This includes account management, the client, and technical resources.
Utilizes technical skills to determine project scope and details. Understands concepts related to Information Technology, systems administration, infrastructure, and networking to allow effective communication with the technical staff, stakeholders, and customers.
Works collaboratively with senior leadership to drive projects to completion. This will include reallocating resources to maximize potential revenue within a given month. Understanding of key deliverables and removing barriers to project completion are a critical function of this role.
Coordinate with technical resources to determine project timelines. Managing the schedule of technical resources to ensure projects remain on track for completion. When barriers are met, the project manager will reallocate resources and shuffle project schedules to ensure maximum effectiveness of the technical resources within the team.
Provides reporting to senior leadership on all aspects of a project including completion dates, barriers, labor planning, scheduling, and current status.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously. This includes both small and large-scale infrastructure improvements. At any given time there pare potentially 20 or more projects active at the same time.
Works with the operations team to ensure adequate resources are available for project completion. This includes staffing reallocation and coordination with other teams within the company for specific resource needs.
Works closely with procurement to ensure products are available when needed. Communicates purchase approvals and timelines to coordinate product delivery in a timely fashion.
Responsible for weekly project update meetings to inform key members of the leadership team of all aspects of the project lifecycle including status, roadblocks, and risks.
Manages project scope creep. Handles change orders with clients and communicates effectively with internal resources to ensure proper billing and financial accounting are in place. Understands the impact of change orders within a project and works diligently with the account management team and the technical resources to deliver projects within scope as much as possible, and adjusts scope when necessary.
Ensures projects are 100% complete. This includes building, documentation, and final handoff to the client with confirmation the project has been completed satisfactorily.

The candidate must have a work history or equivalent education in IT concepts, Systems Administration, Networking, Datacenter operations, cloud computing, or related technical discipline.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Technical or Technical Sales certification(s) from primary solution partners such as Microsoft, Cisco, Hewlett Packard, VMWare are preferred
