Job Description
Develop common workflow, process, procedures, and quality assurance methodologies to increase efficiency and to maintain or improve quality of firmware deliverables.
Focused management of project deliverables and timelines, processes, tools and personnel. Mentor engineers and manage day-to-day tasks.
Collaborate with marketing and innovation teams on product requirements to drive on time, high quality firmware deliverables that meet Customer requirements
Ability to architect firmware deliverables, understand technical limitations, drive common libraries for code re-use to improve team efficiency by developing scalable, reliable, and highly re-usable optimized code..
Responsible for hands-on design, review, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, verification and validation testing
Design new firmware modules, develop and maintain documentation, such as test procedures and software design
Set the standard of technical and leadership excellence for the team.
Must be comfortable with developing code and driving validation as a hands-on leader while staying balanced to lead the team effectively.
Goal setting and measurement for the software team. Lead mentoring and leadership growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, Master's a plus
12+ years of experience in software development.
3+ years of Organizational and Technical leadership experience with history of holding aggressive deadlines in a high growth environment with focus on continual improvement
5+ years of experience working with Embedded Linux, Linux Device Drivers & BSP development. Knowledge of interrupts, memory and scheduler in Linux.
Prior experience with Linux on ARM32/64 is a must.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Ability to solve engineering problems with good data driven decision-making skills
Experience with agile software development practices for full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis
to design, development, code optimization and testing/automation
Good understanding of object-oriented principles and knows how to use design patterns in embedded software
Fluent in software fundamentals, including software design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity
and maintainability.Expert knowledge of the embedded design tools: compilers, debuggers, build management tools, and source code control.
