Job Description
The Business Development Manager is a key function in our sales team and works in close collaboration with Marketing and Product Management to develop and execute the market strategy and sales. The Business Development Manager is responsible to set the strategy for his/her target segment and strategic accounts. The strategy will be driven through the value chain addressing relevant functions to support it. The strategy will allow Avery Dennison to successfully introduce innovations answering unmet needs or displace competitive solutions by leveraging differentiation in the value proposition. The Business Development Manager has both development and “direct selling” responsibility.
In your role you will:
- Identify, assess, develop and manage new programs and new business opportunities and lead to successful commercialization efforts.
- Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with stakeholders to develop market right products, support materials and pricing recommendations across all RFID solutions.
- Work with prospective customers to identify unmet needs, and present compelling solutions.
- Initiate, determine, and present ROI business case analysis.
- Stay abreast industry trends by attending trade shows, events and staying on top of market insights as well as global branding trends.
- Surface new ideas, products applications and solution to development teams.
- Communicate and link key value propositions, differentiators to customer with RFID solutions set.
- Provide product support, recommendations, samples, technical support, training, and service information on demand.
- Craft customized go-to-market strategies.
- Develop long-term business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong, multi-level relationships with business partners at the customers’ and partners’ organizations.
- Collaborate with other business units.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, economics, and/or technical area.
- Strong knowledge of the RFID industry required. At least 5-10 years experience, demonstrable track record with clear knowledge of the market, technologies, players, and channels.
- Strong relationship building skills internally and externally.
- Strong influencing skills and storytelling skills and ability to champion projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.
- Have a solid understanding of finance and ROI analysis.
- Interpersonal, teamwork, and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to execute.
- Up to 50% travel may be required.
