Job Description

We are looking for a Process Engineering Associate at our Painesville, OH facility. In this role, you will be focused on improving the performance of our operations to achieve production excellence. As part of our team, you will work cross-functionally within Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations on projects.  The ability to work multiple functions and influence others is key to the role. This role will be Day shift, 8am-4pm. 

In this important role you will also be responsible for: 

  • Support day to day product and process operations on finishing assets.
  • Support of the scale-up of new products and in the improvement of existing products.
  • Support preventive maintenance plan on finishing assets.
  • Work closely with scheduler and operations team to ensure optimal schedule sequence, relay performance to schedule interruptions, and make course corrections to minimize customer impact and improve production efficiencies.
  • Lead finishing trials and SOP changes.
  • Troubleshoot daily operational challenges.
  • Lead process improvement teams by identifying and calling out all areas of improvement
  • Research and identify the root causes of customer complaints. Work with the team to develop and implement corrective action plans and implementation.
  • Working across functional boundaries and collaborating with various business disciplines in a significant manner - laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions as needed to carry out assignments.
  • Develop, track and improve department metrics and provide updates to the Finishing Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Education:

  •  Associates degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial engineering related preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of manufacturing-related experience. Experience in a 24/7 continuous environment preferred.
  • Data analysis and using statistical tools
  • Web handling experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to successfully build rapport with cross-functional teams.
