Are you a detail-oriented maker who thrives on consistency and technical accuracy? Avery Dennison is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our Printing Operations team in Miamisburg.

This isn't just a "line job." In this role, you are the final checkpoint for quality. You will be responsible for the intricate assembly of mechanical printing components—the "heart" of our printing technology—ensuring that every print head and sub-assembly leaving your station meets our rigorous standards. You will join a culture rooted in the Avery Dennison Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS), where we value efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do: The Core Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve high-dexterity tasks and technical oversight. You will be expected to:

  • Execute Complex Assembly: Use detailed specification sheets to build mechanical printing parts, including print heads and critical sub-assemblies.

  • Precision Inspection: Act as a quality gatekeeper. You will inspect finished work for defects, ensuring perfect print quality, exact part alignment, and verifying that no components are missing.

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate specialized machinery, including hot stampers, brake wheels, and pad printers, maintaining equipment integrity throughout the shift.

  • Quality Control & Troubleshooting: Identify and track rejects. You will be responsible for documenting errors and returning faulty parts to the appropriate departments for repair.

  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate production records, logging output and quality metrics to ensure the department meets its daily targets.

  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Kaizen events, 5S workplace organization, and ELS (Enterprise Lean System) initiatives to streamline our workflows.

  • Safety Leadership: Adhere strictly to all safety and environmental regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free workspace for yourself and your teammates.

Qualifications

Requirements: What You’ll Bring

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship and possess the physical and mental stamina for a fast-paced production environment.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or three years of verifiable manufacturing experience.

  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and work on your feet (standing/walking) for 8+ hours per day.

  • Dexterity & Logic: Strong hand-eye coordination for handling small components, paired with basic math skills for production tracking.

  • Communication: Proven ability to read, interpret, and follow complex written blueprints/spec sheets and verbal instructions.

  • Environment Fit: Comfort working in an industrial setting that may include exposure to dust and silicone oil.

  • Analytical Eye: The ability to recognize subtle differences in parts, patterns, and product variations following our comprehensive training program.
