Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join our Graphics’ team in Painesville Township, OH. In this position, you will lead a team and report into the Plant Manager.

Your primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position include:

  • Lead, develop, and challenge process engineering, project engineering and maintenance teams to drive  process improvements, process reliability, technology advancement, and support facility continuous improvement utilizing the site OGSM as guidance for site priorities. 
  • Safety: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, project management and other EHS responsibilities.
  • Lead project planning, communication, and execution to achieve time, cost, and results targets.
  • Manage/control cost center and capital project portfolio to achieve targeted results.
  • Lead team prioritization to ensure process engineering and maintenance technicians are focused on the most impactful initiatives in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Apply rigorous observation and analytical tools to identify and execute projects focused on safety, quality, operating cost, productivity, and fulfillment of customer expectations.
  • Facilitate/collaborate with cross-functionally to ensure process improvements and project/maintenance objectives are aligned with division and plant objectives.
  • Collaboration with site functions which include EHS, Quality, Operations, Finance, and HR while collaboration with divisional functions including Div. EHS, Div. Quality, Divisional and Corporate Engineering, Graphics Div. R&D, Graphics Commercial, and Legal functions. 
  • Set guidance and expectations for maintenance and engineering to appropriately assess, select, and manage external contractors for project and service requirements.
  • Assist Maintenance Team Manager with management of work order system, spare parts, tools, and supply inventory to minimize unplanned downtime and operating cost.
  • Assist Maintenance Team Manager in the development and support of maintenance technicians.
  • Assist Sr. Engineers in the development and support of process engineers and process technicians.
  • Provide direct "hands on" assistance or knowledge to process engineers and maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Member of plant leadership team with leadership responsibilities both within primary function and beyond.
  • Provide training, mentoring, performance planning, and feedback to develop direct reports and others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering preferred, other engineering degrees will be considered.
  • 5+ years experience in process engineering / plant maintenance / engineering leadership role (preferred).
  • Experience with a TPM program implementation or managing a TPM program (preferred.)
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drives, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls) and facilities systems (required).
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Methodologies (Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to influence and motivate others to excel.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently in a dynamic factory environment.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment. Actively promote collaboration & teamwork and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong organization and computer skills - MS Office, MS Project, Google, AODocs, MINITAB, AutoCAD, Agility, Rockwell RS software.
