We’re seeking an Operations Co-Op / Intern to join our business in North America. You will be responsible for completing assignments focused on process control initiatives and collaborating with the divisional and plant technical teams in one of our state of the art facilities. After a successful co-op/intern you will get hands-on experience in manufacturing.  Our co-op and internship program serves as a talent pipeline for our Early Careers Program in Operations - Controls and throughout the organization.

 

For this co-op opportunity,  you will be based in Mentor, Ohio.  However future opportunities post graduation could be located in IN, PA, IL, GA and OH.

We are looking for a motivated Controls Engineering Co-Op to join our team.  As a controls engineering co-op you will be responsible for the design, specification, development and implementation of controls systems for various manufacturing equipment.

What you will be doing

  • Familiarizing yourself with various programming software platforms
  • Leading/Supporting projects requiring electrical and controls input
  • Maintaining data acquisition systems
  • Editing/Creating Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens for operators
  • Assessing aging or obsolete controls equipment and proposing solutions
  • Reading/Updating electrical schematics
  • Troubleshooting issues with controls systems

Qualifications

What you will need to bring to the program

Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Electrical, Automation, Controls.

Preferred Experience 

  • Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience
  • Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc. 
  • Volunteerism or similar activities.

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 40 percent of the time
