Job Description

The Quality Engineer serves as the central case manager for product quality, overseeing the value stream from order entry to transportation. This role bridges operations between our Lowell, IN and Fairport Harbor, OH facilities, driving robust technical solutions and trials to elevate the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Problem Solving & Claims Management

  • Lead root cause analysis and interactive problem-solving for complex customer claims.

  • Partner with Sales, Tech Service, and Manufacturing to resolve high-level quality escalations.

  • Own the complex claim support process and serve as backup for the Senior Claims Analyst.

Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support

  • Execute quality improvement projects targeting material and processing shortfalls.

  • Scope and perform trial work to identify root causes of manufacturing defects.

  • Develop and implement countermeasures to mitigate recurring quality issues.

Cross-Site Integration & Analysis

  • Act as the primary liaison between manufacturing sites to align quality initiatives.

  • Manage and evaluate Lowell-origin trials through coating and finishing processes.

  • Maintain reporting tools and analyze intra-site trends to guide future project scoping.

  • Participate in daily MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or technical field required.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Technical: Six Sigma certification and Google Suite proficiency preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Logistics:
    • Hybrid Schedule: 4 days on-site in Mentor, OH or Fairport Harbor, OH and 1 day remote.
    • Travel: 10% domestic travel to customers and sister manufacturing facilities.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $96,000 / year.
