ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Logistics Executive, you will serve as the subject matter expert in driving end-to-end export logistics operations from the Plant, DC and External Warehouse, with a primary emphasis on inter-company exports across ASEAN lanes. You will lead trade and exports compliance, strategically optimize shipping bookings and freight procurement, gatekeeper service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics service providers, and work closely with Plant Supply Planners to ensure seamless supply chain delivery.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

1. Inter-Company Export & Strategic Ocean/Air Freight Booking

  • Inter-Company Operations: Lead, plan, and execute inter-company export shipments primarily focused on ASEAN lanes (e.g., Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines).

  • Shipping Booking & Strategy: Strategically coordinate and book shipping allocations with ocean carriers and Freight Forwarders (FF) to line up vessel/flight schedules with production schedules and target Ready For Shipment (RFS) dates.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Plant Supply Planners, Finishing Centre,, CS & OF, and Warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory flow, container stuffing schedules, and timely dispatch.

2. Export Customs & Trade Compliance

  • Regulatory Compliance & Declarations: Oversee accurate export documentation, customs declarations (including K2 forms and related customs specs), and ensure full adherence to Malaysian Customs and international trade regulations.

  • FTA & Origin Certificates: Manage the end-to-end application and certification of Free Trade Agreements (e.g., ATIGA, AANZFTA, ACFTA, AKFTA, Form AK, NPCO/PCO) to optimize customer duties and preferential tariffs.

  • MITI & Trade Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of official trade reports, regulatory applications, and statutory compliance filings to government bodies including MITI, and Customs.

3. Freight Procurement, Bidding & Logistics Vendor Management

  • Shipment Loading Coordination: Coordinate cargo movement from various points (Plant, DC, Ext Whs) for a consolidated container loading planning. 

  • Freight Procurement & Bidding: Manage monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc freight bidding processes. Benchmark freight rates, analyze quotes, and strategically assign lanes to freight forwarders/transporters in alignment with budget and business goals.

  • Vendor Performance & KPI Management: Gatekeep Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for 3PLs, freight forwarders, and haulage providers. Conduct regular performance reviews and drive corrective action plans when needed.

  • Demurrage & Detention Control: Monitor container turnaround, yard status, vessel delays, and shut-outs to proactively mitigate extra costs (demurrage, detention, storage fees).

4. Operational Monitoring & Contingency Management

  • Monitor shipment progress, ETD/ETA updates, vessel omits, port congestion, and carrier schedule changes; communicate risks proactively to internal and regional stakeholders.

  • Lead resolution for operational anomalies such as BL amendments, split shipments, container shut-outs, or customs holds.

5. Import Coordination (Nice-to-Have / Backup Support)

  • Provide secondary oversight for incoming raw materials/imports, customs clearance (K1/K8/K9), and delivery coordination when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Logistics and any other related fields 

  • 3-5 years of experience in export process (mandatory) is required

  • Well versed in logistical supply chain and customs requirements.

  • Experience in web-based ERP systems is a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
