Job Description

About the role

We are seeking an Electrician / Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Longford. In this role, you will provide key electrical and technical support to our production processes, ensuring equipment reliability and continuous operational efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation projects, maintain facility distribution systems, and troubleshoot complex electrical equipment within our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

This is an on-site position based at our Longford facility.

  • Provide electrical and technical support to production processes to ensure continuous operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Assist in integrating equipment and automation projects to improve plant performance and process efficiency.
  • Deliver technical expertise and support for all electrical maintenance aspects of general plant and facility systems.
  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment safely and effectively.
  • Utilize wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation manuals/procedures to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Qualified Electrician to FETAC Level 6.
  • Strong competence in reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation procedures.

Skills you need to succeed:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within medical device manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to PLC programming, associated instrumentation, and air handling/air conditioning systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
