Job Description
ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to own and optimize end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations, enabling business growth and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This role combines strategic planning (S&OP) with hands-on execution across logistics, inventory, and cost management in a fast-paced global environment, offering the opportunity to work in a global environment with cross-functional stakeholders.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead and facilitate the S&OP process to align supply capabilities with market demand.
- Coordinate closely with suppliers and forwarders to ensure reliable, cost-efficient, and on-time delivery (including Just-in-Time (JIT) operations).
- Identify risks in supply-demand balance and propose actionable solutions.
- Inventory & Cost Management
- Manage inventory levels and logistics-related costs, driving continuous cost optimization initiatives.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliation and ensure accuracy between physical assets and financial records.
- Partner with the Finance team to establish standard costing based on logistics data and resolve freight billing discrepancies.
- Reconcile inventory and troubleshoot daily supply chain issues.
- Logistics Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade requirements, and relevant environmental/logistics standards.
- Utilize ERP and digital tools to manage and analyze inventory, production, and distribution data to identify supply-demand risks and drive informed decision-making.
- Investigate logistics issues (damage, delays, discrepancies etc.), manage insurance claims, and implement preventive measures to improve reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in import or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of Export Control Classification documents and international logistics processes.
- Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical Skill and Hands-on mindset
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office / Google Workspace (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Business-level English (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent) and native-level Japanese.
