Job Description

As a key member of the Labels and Packaging Materials - North America (LPM-NA) Commercial Finance team, the Commercial Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the LPM Sales and Marketing organizations, by providing proactive and timely analytical guidance to help drive profitable growth while clearly highlighting key performance drivers impacting the business.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as Commercial Finance Analyst, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:

  • Comprehensive Commercial Finance & Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a key business partner to the Sales and Marketing organizations, providing proactive analytical guidance and support for our commercial organization. This will be in tandem with developing a deep understanding of customers, sales and marketing strategies, and profitability across our portfolio.

  • Forecasting, Planning and Analysis: Help support weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting processes and month-end closing activities. This role will have a key impact on topline forecasting, Annual Operating Plan, and strategic planning process, working with LPM leadership and the commercial team to develop topline targets at a customer-product level.

  • Driving Business Analytics: Leveraging our Business Intelligence tools and platforms, empower the team with tools and models to understand result drivers to make informed business decisions that lead to profitable growth. Quick interpretation of data and financial modeling will be required to further answer the current needs of the business and to continue leading proactive insights.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Continuity: Drive synergy and optimization of commercial finance work. Additionally, collaborate on finance matters with cross-functional teams (Commercial Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance) and cross-train with senior team members to develop sustainable processes and maintain business continuity. 

  • Controllership and Compliance: Support activities related to finance compliance and policies (SOX, Trade Compliance, External & Internal Audit, etc.), identify compliance gaps, and provide meaningful analysis to explain variances and meet all required audit deadlines. Maintain a high-level of controllership in regards to financial accuracy and transparency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required

  • 3+ years of financial and/or accounting experience with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong ability to build robust and dynamic financial models, by putting the mindset of aiding story-telling and quick comprehension for our business stakeholders at the forefront of the output

  • Strong collaborative/teamwork bias, superior communication skills and ability to articulate business results & opportunities

  • Experience in a commercial (finance, marketing, sales) setting preferred; includes working knowledge of commercial hierarchies

  • Strong software skills/knowledge, including Google platforms, Excel, Oracle EBS/R12, Salesforce, Pricefx and Oracle Business Intelligence suite (OAC)

  • Desire to continuously learn and take initiative to act on data/intuition; provide proactive insights that drive action and execution, leading to results

  • A desire to drive automation, rapidly learn and implement AI tools and programs, and continuously challenge current processes for optimization

  • Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $88,500 year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
