Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As Product Manager for China, you will have the overall responsibility for the execution of the commercial strategy within the China RFID ecosystem for AD Smartrac. A successful candidate will provide vision and direction to the organization and drive action and execution to achieve the strategic and P&L goals for this product portfolio. We are a business fueled by collaboration and teamwork, and passionate about growth, sustainability, and diversity. The Product Manager does not have “direct selling” responsibility.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Work closely with R&D, local & global NPD team to develop & launch core and specialty products which are truly unique to the local market. Identify, highlight & work with the regional team for bigger platform projects.
  • Insert KLo: Gather market needs and competitive landscape: Understanding China's RFID market and competitive landscapes, integrating feedback from commercial teams to iteratively develop products based on current effectiveness, competitive pressures, and market needs. Understand market dynamics, key accounts, and how the product portfolio meets needs. Guide new programs to winning solutions.
  • Rationalize/simplify portfolio working closely with the MDM, Sales, R&D and NPD, Supply Chain, Operations teams & ensure alignment with regional product strategy.
  • Own the product portfolio, product roadmap and product value proposition, eventually evolving the product portfolio to cater for RFID growth within the China RFID segment. Focusing on key segments within AD focus.
  • Manage product mix at the country level to maximize profitability by recommending Emphasis, Maintain & Decline positions to sales & segment teams. Have a strong understanding of product costing.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 20-30%.
  • Cost out: Actively contributes to cost out target for the country. PM led cost out projects & extending support in other projects as required.  
  • Map out key competitors product portfolio, conduct research & benchmarking studies to develop deep understanding of their market position.
  • Own the training of local sales & segment teams for the Regional Initiatives & Preferred Product Portfolio.
  • Work closely with Marcom team to develop Commercial Messaging package including Collaterals, Selling Tools, Product Services Guide & Standardized Product Data Sheets for local products & ensure alignment with regional guidelines.

 

Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

  • 2+ years sales and marketing or technical sales experience, desired.  3+ years product management experience is a must.
  • Experience in product management and commercialization processes. Ability to champion new business ventures.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with financial acumen.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills.  
  • Understanding of applicable computer software systems & tools.
  • Excellent organizational, people and project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner. 
  • Strong customers focus and market orientation.
