Job Description

The Commercial Sustainability Manager is responsible for bridging the gap between EMENA sustainability strategy and regional commercial execution. This role focuses on translating the sustainability strategy into actionable projects, partnerships and activities that create tangible value for the business and our customers. You will oversee regulatory, market and competitor activity alongside our own position, developing and supporting offerings where needed to ensure Avery Dennison remains a leader in sustainability. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key liaison between the sustainability function of our customers, as well as our commercial and business teams to ensure customer needs and market trends are integrated and translated into products, services, solutions and thought leadership

  • Ensure that our EMENA sustainability strategy is implemented, working with the business to ensure alignment between LPM’s commercial goals and operational realities.

  • Identify and capture the commercial value within sustainability regulations and initiatives, ensuring they contribute to market differentiation, bottom-line impact, and long-term business resilience.

  • Lead and harmonize the complex stakeholder ecosystem, including the Enterprise CoE, internal cross-functional teams, and external sustainability customers and partners to drive collective progress.

  • Establish and own the daily execution cadence across teams, ensuring projects remain on track, risks are mitigated, and key commercial metrics are met.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in Sustainability, Project Management, Consulting or Commercial Strategy, with a track record of delivering complex projects in a matrixed environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Sustainability

  • Skills: 

    • Strategic Project Management: Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder workstreams from concept to completion.

    • Commercial partnerships: Proven ability to build and grow relationships with customers and partners that create and grow business value

    • Sustainability Fluency: Deep understanding of the EMENA circular economy landscape, including the packaging landscape and the impacts of PPWR.

    • Commercial Acumen: Ability to build business cases for customers and our business that justify sustainability investments and help to identify growth opportunities through a commercial lens.

Collaborative Leadership: Strong "leading through influence" skills to drive alignment between technical, operational, and commercial functions.
