Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Logistics Manager leads the plant warehousing, shipping, import export document processing and material flow function to support supply chain and business goals. The individual manages and develops logistics staff, controlling the overall budget of the logistics department.

In addition, the Logistic manager will lead initiatives for productivity improvement, enhance cost saving and cost control, as well as strategic projects that benefit the company profit and operation excellence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Employee Development & Management

  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up-to-date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.

  • Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.

  • Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.

  • Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

  • Act as a team role model and change-agent.

  • Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.

  • Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.

 

Operations

  • Drive business results by improving material flow, accuracy of inventory data and operational efficiency with the overall goal to maximize the warehouse utilization and ensure sufficient ram material supply to meet plant production requirements.

  • Formulate policies on and set operating procedures for inventory, warehouse and logistics management 

  • Lead the company warehouse/shipping team managing its numerous warehouses and stores locations

  • Be accountable for following through the import, export and custom procedures that comply with company and government regulation requirements.

  • Be accountable to supervise and manage the local delivery team to deploy daily operations to meet the business requirement.

  • Play a lead role to update the management team for the potential impact of changing import/export/custom requirements.

  • Set up the operational and inventory goals and establish KPIs that meet the management requirement and align to the business objectives.

  • Play a key role in the support and launch of the company's ERP system that related to logistics function.

  • Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure responsive services 

  • Supervise the implementation and maintenance of all safety, health and environmental procedures in accordance with plant and company policies and guidelines

  • Implement Lean-Sigma methodologies and principles to manages and executes various programs that lead to improvements in quality, costs and overall efficiency

  • Cooperate with the TQ department to implement and maintain the quality/ ISO9000 systems. 

  • Prepare and controls departmental budget

  • Ensure all employees participate in company-organized training on ISO9001, FSC and EHS, and follow related procedures & WI.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields required.

  • 7+ years SML or related experience, with 3+ years supervisory or lead experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. ELS, continuous flow, cellular etc.) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.

  • Experience handling import export operations, customs practices for FDI, EPE firm.

  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels and execution.

  • Strong leadership skills.  Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization

  • Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
