The Turret Slitter Operator is responsible for end-to-end production. This includes preparing materials for continuous operation, performing complex turret slitter set-ups (including precise knife and tension adjustments and self-approval), running the machine (including waste management on die-cutters), reworking product, and packing/staging finished goods.
What You’ll Do
- Production Preparation: Read and follow order specifications, ensuring all materials, supplies, and tools are staged at the machine to support continuous operation, including the next shift.
- Machine Setup and Adjustment: Independently perform complex set-ups and changeovers on turret slitters, die cutters, and rewind equipment. This includes installing rolls and cores, replacing the rewind matrix, making precise knife and tension adjustments, and approving your own setup for a quality run.
- Troubleshooting and Operation: Monitor machine performance, replace rolls as needed, and troubleshoot equipment issues quickly to maintain continuous production flow.
- Finishing and Material Handling: Rework damaged or sliced product. Produce labels, pack finished product per specifications, and move materials to stage skids and carts for distribution.
- Team Support and Process Improvement: Assist, train, and support team members. Proactively review current processes and propose new ideas for operational improvement.
