Job Description

The Quality Lab Technician role is integral to the Cleveland films facility's manufacturing operations. This position is primarily responsible for leading and executing all Quality Assurance Lab activities. Key responsibilities include performing incoming adhesive testing upon receipt to verify adherence to specifications and conducting age laboratory testing to ensure ongoing product quality and performance. The Quality Lab Technician plays a critical role in maintaining product quality standards and supporting efficient manufacturing processes. This role is from 10AM-6PM.

Starting hiring rate: $26.70/hr

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Support the day to day operations of the Cleveland Films Facility (CFF) QA Lab

  • Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process in compliance with all applicable test methods (product age testing and incoming adhesive inspection)

  • Retain organization, maintenance and retrievals. 

  • Support in investigating customer claims ( investigative testing and retain retrieval). 

  • Maintain lab/ testing equipment through PMs and calibrations. 

  • Ensure lab supplies are stocked.

  • Complete the cutting of patterns for applicable jobs. 

  • Complete bulk tank adhesive bacteria testing. 

  • Rigorous compliance with ISO9001 standards , procedures, work instructions, and test methods

  • Entering of data into various spreadsheets and databases (QIS, Google)

  • Assist in training of manufacturing personnel in quality related methods, skills, and techniques

  • Actively participate in Level 1 MDI’s and plant Kaizen events upon request. 

  • Ensure adherence to operating standards to ensure safe work practices, maximize productivity and minimize scrap and machine downtime

  • Recommend, support, and implement improvements to quality initiatives

  • Ensure safety and housekeeping efforts are supported. 5S and cleaning of the CF1/CF2 Lab

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.

  • Actively seeks knowledge, skills, and experience in order to grow and develop

  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, and take appropriate actions

  • Achieves goals with minimal direction

  • Demonstrated decision and problem solving experience

  • Strong communication skills in and outside of QA

  • Flexible and ready to accept and respond to multi-task assignments

  • Computer proficiency, including spreadsheet, google processing, and Oracle

  • Previous QA testing, QA lab or R&D lab experience

  • Must be willing and able to work 10am-6pm, plus overtime as needed.

Preferred Requirements 

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 is a plus

  • Six Sigma Training or lean training is a plus
