Job Description
The Controller will lead the financial planning, analysis, and business partnering activities for the local business, with a strong focus on supporting commercial and operational decision-making. This role serves as a key financial advisor to leadership, driving budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy, while also maintaining a strong foundation of financial controls and compliance. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep FP&A capabilities, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proactive, business-minded approach.
Key Responsibilities
FP&A & Business Partnership – 70%
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the local planning process to ensure alignment with business strategy and regional targets.
Commercial Support: Partner with Sales and Marketing to validate forecasts, pricing strategies, and customer profitability analyses.
Operational Collaboration: Work with Operations to evaluate cost savings, process improvements, and capital project ROI.
Business Case Development: Build and assess financial business cases to support strategic investments and growth initiatives.
Performance Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial reports and KPIs, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities for senior leadership.
Corporate Reporting: Oversee submissions to Corporate via HFM and ensure compliance with internal deadlines and policies.
Decision Support: Deliver proactive financial insights to guide short- and long-term business decisions.
Controlling & Compliance – 30%
Financial Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls in partnership with the Shared Services Controller team.
Compliance & Audit: Support tax and statutory compliance (including sales tax filings), and act as a liaison for internal and external audits.
Government Relations: Serve as the finance point of contact for local government and compliance-related matters.
Accuracy & Reconciliation: Assist with monthly reconciliations, financial accuracy, and alignment with corporate reporting standards.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring goals are set, performance is tracked, and growth opportunities are supported.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Model company values and ethical standards while serving as a key change agent across the function.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
CPA is a plus, but not required.
7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Experience working within manufacturing entities or environments
Proven FP&A experience and ability to partner effectively with commercial and operational teams.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, business acumen, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., HFM, SAP, or similar tools).
