Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Product Manager Automotive to join our Performance Tapes EMEA.

In this position, you will support Marketing, Sales, Application Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain Management by leading the P&L and the Product Lifecycle for a selected product portfolio (cross-segment, focus on automotive). We are looking for an individual that fits well with our entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about bold growth. You will report to our Sr. Marketing Manager, Performance Tapes Europe. 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the optimization of revenue and profit growth by managing the Automotive business product portfolio across key technologies. Develop and execute competitive pricing strategies alongside market segment managers and implement cost-down initiatives with operations, supply chain, and procurement teams.
  • Define and execute Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities, including new product launches, line extensions, product re-engineering, cost reductions, and updating product service guidelines to meet the evolving needs of customers and the market.
  • Collaborate in the development of strategic and annual operating plans, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams to address market demands and opportunities.
  • Drive application-focused sales enablement, including creation of technical resources such as data sheets, selling tools, training materials, online marketing assets, and PR/advertising campaigns, ensuring resources align with market trends and leverage best group-wide practices.
  • Participate in external and internal engagements, including customer/supplier visits and events, to develop a thorough understanding of evolving technologies, market trends, competitive activities, and regulatory requirements—ensuring strategic alignment to future market needs.
  • Partner with sales teams and application technical team (ATS) to accelerate growth and support product development initiatives, providing technical market inputs and actively leveraging business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams on sourcing new raw materials for product development and modifications, ensuring consistent product innovation and cost efficiency.
  • Work with supply chain and sales teams to establish and implement service guidelines that align with product performance targets and customer expectations.
  • Lead cross-functional new product development initiatives, providing strong project management and market-driven insights alongside R&D, ATS, and marketing teams.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing technical, engineered product lines in a B2B environment, with a demonstrated track record of driving growth and innovation.
  • A master degree in Chemical Engineering, Product Marketing, or a comparable technical/commercial discipline, or equivalent through experience. 
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills with critical thinking to challenge and improve the status quo.
  • Proven financial and business acumen, with a strategic mindset and ability to balance technical and market priorities.
  • Exceptional ability to inspire and build momentum among cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Project leadership expertise, particularly in cross-disciplinary environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required by business needs.
