Job Description

Shift: Day Shift 7:30AM - 4PM (flexible) - Building 19

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  •  Inspection of raw materials, components, and in-process and final products in accordance with approved SOPs,
    customer and regulatory requirements.

  •  Participate in plant-related problem resolution activities (FMEA, MDI, etc.).

  •  Ensure performance of routine audits and inspections of production and test areas.

  •  Provide Quality Assurance (QA) support during production activities.

  •  Sample and disposition of raw material and components.

  •  Provide support in product complaint investigations including direct customer assistance regarding quality issues.

  •  Actively participate in training functions to expand technical skills and improve services provided to all internal and external customers.

  •  Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations.

  •  Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and nonconformances as required.

  •  Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Conduct lab testing in support of production,  product development (R&D), project management, customer response (claims), and process technology.

  • Makes recommendations regarding improvements to test methodology.

  • Performs technical and record-keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements

  • Interprets analytical results, draws conclusions and theories, and communicates the impact of product performance. 

  • Provide management and reporting of document control, calibration, and training in AODocs as needed. Provide support in corrective and preventative action, non-conforming material, deviations and supplier quality processes as required.

  • Provide quality technician support at other local sites as needed

  • Data entry into quality management systems

  • Practice all health and safety procedures, policies and practices.

  • Practice excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Attend all required safety training.

  • Participate in the internal audit program at Avery Dennison

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or Technician Certification a plus.
  • 3 - 5 years related Quality experience (manufacturing, medical device industry, or other regulated industry is preferred).
  • Understands and uses basic science principles in incorporating new techniques. Proficiency with various types of procedures and equipment.
  • Flexibility to manage changing activities / projects.
  • Understanding of computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Gmail and function specific software.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions, and take appropriate actions.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 
  • Must have demonstrated a record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice request as needed.
  • Skilled in interfacing effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
  • Actively seeks knowledge, skills, and experience in order to grow and develop.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents related to product manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance periodically through the shift.
  • Skilled in interfacing effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
