We’re seeking a Product Development Co-Op to join our Avery Dennison Smartrac business in North America starting January 2025 on our Product Development Team. This will be an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a fast paced and client focused environment. Our summer internship and Co-Op programs serve as a talent pipeline for our Early Careers Program throughout the organization.

We are considering individuals who are excited about working in our state of the art facility in Miamisburg, OH.

What you will be doing

  • Media/Customization Projects

    • Support media/customization projects in the Food/CPG and Apparel/Retail segments covering end-to-end process including translating client requirements into product specification and item code/Bill of Materials documentation to enable design, sampling, testing, and release to production working within a supportive, collaborative, and global cross-functional team environment

    • Closely collaborate with Product Development Managers and Product Line Managers in support of implementation, execution and delivery of customized products.

    • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for the media/customization process with the objectives of simplification, quality and speed as guiding principles.

    • Strong project and time management skills, verbal and written communication skills, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, statistical data analysis, and work towards knowledge acquisition. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

What you will need to bring to the program

Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical engineering disciplines such as Electronics/Computer/Mechanical. 

  • Bachelors & Masters degrees must come from an accredited US institution.  Sponsorship is not available at this time.  Students must be domestic.

  • Proficiency in business tools such Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Oracle, as well as the ability to navigate the digital world.

Preferred Experience 

  • Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience

  • Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc. 

  • Volunteerism or similar activities

*Must have reliable transportation to and from work in Miamisburg, OH

*Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
