Job Description

The ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Data & Reporting Manager will work alongside as a member of our ESG team focused on advancing sustainability data management, governance, controllership, and reporting readiness. This role will serve as a key piece of our future reporting strategy, building and enhancing data governance and SOX-like controllership alongside nonfinancial internal teams.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • ESG Reporting Data Management: 

    • Coordinate ESG and sustainability data collection efforts (aligned with SASB, CSRD, CDP) and other reporting protocols and issue company’s ESG Download.  

    • Identify and implement actions to improve data collection, management and controllership across key data-providing stakeholders aligned with COSO or similar framework.

    • Serve as a controllership thought leader and process implementation leader for sustainability reporting data providers and stakeholders

  • ESG Reporting Readiness: 

    • Evaluate leading reporting frameworks (TCFD, ISSB etc), conduct gap assessment, and develop recommendations and reporting roadmap.

    • Manage buildout of internal data programs and controllership to meet new reporting requirements (CA SB 261, SB 253, CSRD, CSDDD etc)

    • Assist in developing reporting content for compliance and voluntary reporting

    • Manage assurance-readiness in line with regulatory requirements, and manage external audit engagements

  • Internal sustainability data management

    • Develop and manage KPI scorecard for our 2025 and 2030 sustainability goals and annual targets.

    • Accelerate data availability to support sustainability teams ability to track and manage progress

    • Assist with improving consistency in scorecard and KPI tracking across all businesses

  • Other key planning and reporting responsibilities:

    • including MSCI, ISS, Vigeo Eiris, CDP, etc.  Identify opportunities and initiatives to improve ratings and address gaps..

    • Assist with timely and accurate responses to ESG-focused inquiries from investors, customers, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

    • Manage external resources to provide subject-matter expertise, where necessary.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Business, Finance or Accounting

  • 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting/internal or external audit with a strong record of career progression.

  • Strong understanding of accounting and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to implement data governance and controls

  • Working knowledge of key ESG and sustainability topics is highly desired, particularly carbon footprinting

  • Strong and independent strategic thinker and influencer.

  • Natural project management, problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to drive process-based improvement across functions.

  • Strong initiative and collaborative work-style; experience working with multiple stakeholders to successfully execute action plans.

  • Experience with Workiva Google docs, Microsoft Excel and HFM preferred

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $109,530 - $133,870/ year.
