Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking an Associate Plant Manager for our Adhesives Manufacturing Facility in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for leadership of the site’s operational performance in environmental health & safety, financial results, quality, service, employee relations, and supply chain management. Background and expertise working in a process safety management regulated chemical manufacturing facility is required. This position reports directly to the Senior Plant Manager and will actively work to transition to stand alone plant management duties.

  • Metrics Driven. Implement, monitor, and control critical and meaningful performance indicators (EHS, People, Service, Quality, Cost, Growth) that deliver business results for the corporation on both the top and bottom line.

  • Champion the principles of Lean Six Sigma developing an organizational culture that accepts and cultivates continuous improvement.

  • Develop and ensure successful implementation of annual and long term financial and business plans.

  • Model and promote the corporation’s code of business ethics, leadership principles and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical field , Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 10+ years successful multi-functional operations experience including management and employee development.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability in a process safety management regulated chemical facility with a shown, measurable track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement.

  • Solid understanding of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. ELS) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

  • Skilled in analyzing and drawing information for long-term strategic change and improvement for the site.

  • Skilled in leading significant multi-site, multi-functional or business project initiatives, scheduling and planning.

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels and execution.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing individuals and teams.

  • Operational knowledge of the applicable systems.

  • Strong financial and business acumen.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, relationship building, coaching, training and project management experience and skills.
