Job Description
Advance R&D through digital solutions to support Avery Dennison's and its customers' research and development goals is a mandate for the IT organization. R&D goals are essential to Avery Dennison's responsibilities, growth, and future. Alongside enabling the use of information technology to improve revenue, cost efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement, digital technology can also help Avery Dennison make meaningful progress on its company-wide R&D goals. As an IT Business Analyst, you will partner with the R&D and Sustainability to support the execution of our business objectives and strategies. To succeed, you will have to act as the link between IT, Sustainability, and R&D groups of the business and leverage the decentralized, cross-functional internal network of functional champions. Therefore, it is essential that you have experience driving innovation and positive change by applying your IT business analysis skills and by bringing together varied groups of stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
In this role, you will support the following key Business Analyst activities:
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with key business stakeholders around R&D and IT stakeholders globally.
Work with the functional Business Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts to evaluate business processes and facilitate requirements gathering activities.
Work with functional Subject Matter Experts to ensure successful end-to-end functional testing and knowledge transfer to Application Support teams.
Develop requirements, integration requirements, and complete design documentation activities.
Support tool selection and gap analysis activities in close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of our IT practices, procedures, and supporting tools.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's/Bachelor's degree, ideally with a major in IT, Business Administration, Operations Research, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience supporting R&D business processes as an IT professional.
Experience and skills:
An unrelenting passion for positive change and accelerating research and development within the organization.
At least 3-5 years+ of fundamental experience as a Business Analyst (or roles alike), ideally within the manufacturing industry or coming from the technology space.
Experience with IT implementations (applications and/or analytics) with regards to R&D, new product development, and/or technology road mapping is strongly desirable.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual/critical thinking skills.
Strong organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Able to work in a matrix environment within and outside the IT organization.
Data savviness and critical attention to detail.
Capable of traveling and experience working collaboratively across a range of cultures within a global structure.
