Job Description

At Avery Dennison, we are looking for a Product Regulatory Compliance Analyst to join our Product Stewardship team based in Oegstgeest. 

 

In this role, you will assist in all EU chemical regulatory compliance related topics throughout product development & distribution activities for all our products within the Label and Graphic Materials portfolio (for both existing and new applications). It is essential as an Compliance Analyst to be able to effectively help identify & communicate threats and opportunities from a product compliance perspective to all relevant stakeholders

You will have a significant impact by protecting our brand and by supporting Avery Dennison’s mission to deliver innovative products and intelligent solutions to customers all over the world.

The position will be located at our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands.

The following list provides an overview of key responsibilities, but it is not exhaustive and may be adapted to meet the evolving needs of the business.

  •  Regulatory compliance customer support: provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries about product compliance. Create helpful resources to address common customer questions. Identify areas where we can improve our customer support and communication.
  • Data Management: maintain our regulatory compliance database of all chemicals and raw materials used in your products. Communicate with suppliers to gather and update regulatory compliance information on products they supply to us. 
  • Regulatory Documentation: create, update and maintain our customer facing regulatory compliance documentation and statements ensuring they are clear and easy to understand for a non-technical audience.
  • Collaboration & Communication: work closely with internal stakeholders like technical sales, marketing, R&D and procurement to ensure compliance. Support the compliance team with new project developments and innovative projects such as Green Chemistry, Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, etc.
  • Regulatory monitoring: support the compliance team by regularly monitoring relevant regulatory developments, analyzing the scope and implications of new regulations. Provide concrete recommendations to the team on how to adapt to regulatory changes. Assist in regulatory compliance checks of chemical substances, interpret and draw conclusions to report to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated success in a similar role within an international, fast-paced industrial environment 
  • Strong scientific background & education on an academic level (Master degree or Bachelor degree) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology (toxicology), Pharmacy, Food science) or equivalent experience 
  • You speak and write fluent English
  • Experience with Google Suite (e.g. Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • You are hands-on, have strong project management skills in which you take full ownership and control over complex assignments, including new or innovative products and have the ability to manage priorities.
  • Strong Analytical skills and consistent eye for detail with an ability to understand technical specifications. 
  • You have solid interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders from varying disciplines and cultures on technical topics, regulations and extract advice to transfer to other projects
  • You are confident in your ability to drive matters independently while balancing the need to collaborate and maintain an appropriate level of communication and coordination with the rest of your team.
  • Your strong sense of initiative and self-motivation will add value to a fast-growing business.
