Job Description

Working independently and with minimum supervision provides technical services at customer’s location and support to sales, marketing or business development within assigned territory.  Incumbent provides moderate to complex technical service expertise performing installations, services and on-site diagnostics and service on mechanical, electrical, electronic equipment, components, communication devices and systems.  Instructs customers on the operation or proper use of equipment.  Operates in the field on call and provides technical support to territory/assigned customers and as required may provide assistance and support to other field service team members.  Works remotely and commutes to customers throughout the region (Assigned territory is Southern California).  The candidate's home location can reside anywhere within Orange or San Diego county California, although the ideal location would be in Orange county.

  • Promptly respond to all customer requests for service and schedule on-site visits as required.
  • Manages service requirements in assigned territory and schedules their own appointments.
  • Provide installation, warranty, preventive, problem diagnosis, & corrective maintenance and training to customers.
  • Maintains highest priority on meeting customer expectations
  • Maintains frequent communications with sales to stay abreast of customer needs and sensitivities.
  • Maintains up to date technical skills on all products including hardware and software.
  • Maintains company property and assets in accordance with established policies.   Manages a parts inventory and orders parts internally as needed.
  • Promptly reports product operating abnormalities and/or failures and obtains samples for evaluation.
  • Remains alert for competitive activities and obtains samples for evaluation when possible.
  • Documents, maintains, tracks and reports all required service related information by due dates.
  • May use software applications and diagnostic programs

Qualifications

  • Associates (2-yr) degree in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years related experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Field Technical person in the same or similar industry.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing workloads and schedules.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Good interpersonal, customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Understanding and experience with information systems environments and systems. 
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google and function specific software.
