Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees who post and balance books of account, such as cash book, general journal, sales book, purchase register and general and subsidiary ledgers. This individual acts as the accounting team lead and oversees the preparation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements, coding of invoices and vouchers with proper account distribution, including Statutory requirements.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Activities and duties will vary depending upon the functional area assigned.  Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and assist in the close process.  Complete analysis, analyze information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review cost center budgets. Has impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change.
  • Monitor employee activities, assist with problems, and take action when necessary to ensure work quality standards and planned schedules are maintained. 
  • Perform various activities to comply with Audit and Statutory Reports, SAFT, VAT, among other requirements.
  • Ensure the supervised department meets daily/ annual goals.  Assess and suggest new procedures and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Act as a team role model and change-agent.
  • Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
  • Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.
  • Responsible for the financial reporting, maintenance, account reconciliation and analysis of the general ledger and books of original entry, and the maintenance and documentation of internal accounting controls.  Includes month-end closing accounting activities.
  • Audit, review and verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.   
  • 5+ years accounting or related experience with supervisory or lead experience is a plus.  
  • Thoroughly understands the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and general ledger. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are essential.  
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Mail & Drive and function specific software.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.  
  • Good project management and business partnering skills.
  • Possess effective supervisory skills.  
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal and tax laws.
  • Green Belt certification is desirable.
  • Excellent audit skills.
  • Good Norwegian and English skills
  • Good Problem solving skills & Adaptability skills
  • Good organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Good auditing skills.
