Job Description
We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence role to support our team at Avery Dennison’s Global Corporate Headquarters in Mentor, Ohio! Being a part of this team, you will be involved in developing and managing complex tools, in addition to providing reporting and analytical support to our North America Sales and Marketing organization as well as internal Finance (commercial finance and pricing). The main goal of the Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence role is to support the Commercial Finance and Pricing departments to become more efficient as well as to make it easier for the commercial organization to find valuable business insight. This position will use technology and partnership with IT to translate our needs into the right tools. Additionally, this position will focus on streamlining critical processes by focusing on standardization, automation and self service for Finance and also for our business partners in Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the month end close process by aligning our profitability tool to our P&L, this requires a developed Financial acumen skill that enables you to translate our manufacturing processes and Financial models into a complex profitability tool
- Manage technology projects, gather customer requirements and work together with IT into delivering the right solution for the team
- Change management, be an advocate for change by proactively guiding teams toward using all our tools and highlighting all the advantages of BI; you are the expert of our tools and understand all their potential and can provide training to all our cross functional teams.
- Partner with internal team members to understand their needs and translate them into new dashboards/reports that generate valuable insights in an efficient manner,
- Support our strategy of moving the organization up the Business Intelligence learning curve into a full self service model.
- Contribute to the automation and standardization of internal reports or business processes by identifying improvement opportunities
- Support our Finance excellence processes: such as Sales Incentive plans, Transfer price management or Rebate controls
- Establish and build upon strong, cohesive working relationships between Finance and all our team members in IT and the Commercial organization
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated and thriving in a dynamic and collaborative environment. What we also expect from you:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance or related field
- 1-3 years Finance, Business Intelligence or related experience
- Experience in Project Management, in teams and independently
- Skilled in proficiently using computers and related software in performing financial job tasks, specifically setting up spreadsheet formulas, linking spreadsheets, extracting data and validating new models vs existing reports
- Affinity to analytical systems and experience using Business Intelligence technology with a Financial perspective is a must
- Experienced in communicating complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, and making presentations to cross functional teams. Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.
- Knowledge of research methodologies. Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive and accurate reports and present complex financial and statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.
- Great teammate with good communication and collaboration skills- experience in change management and training is key to the role.
