About your role
The Document Control Specialist is responsible for the control of documents to ensure that processes align with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsible for developing and implementing documentation procedures including storing, updating, archiving, and distributing compliance documents. Ensures the accurate organization of all documents.
Your responsibilities will include:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Update, maintain and refine procedures related to the document control and training quality systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Write, update, issue, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) documentation, including but not limited to SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms, Design History Files, Technical Files and Specifications.
- Coordinate change control, revision history, retention, and access to documentation.
- Provide records and information management services to various functions in Fitchburg including retention of controlled documents for production.
- Collaborate with other members of the Fastener Solutions team, in support of the development and revision of procedural documents
- Conduct annual PPAP revalidations tracking, submissions to customer and tracking approvals.
- Ensures the quality review and consistency checks applied across the department, verifies accuracy and clarity of content within and across documents,
- Coordinate all requests for procedural documents related internal processes external audits
- Handle and maintain Records Management System including physical records in assigned locations.
- Maintain Quality Management System (QMS).
- Serve as internal auditor, conduct audit of Quality areas as assigned.
- Implement the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for Fitchburg
- Build Internal Material Data System (IMDS) entries for new automotive product releases.
- Supplier change requests to customers and approval process
- Process and storage of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Maintain the master list for Avery Dennison Fitchburg Quality manual
- Ability to speak to processes managed during internal and external audits.
- Product Compliance. Verify Regulatory requirements as REACH, ROHS, Conflict of Minerals, California PROP65, etc.
- Process NPD's (New Product Release) received from Engineering, including review for accuracy, send for approval, enter in QAD and build labels.
- Process ECO's (Engineering Change Order) which are for changes to an existing product. Review for accuracy, send for approval, update QAD and remove old rev and add new rev. in the I drive.
Qualifications
What we will be looking for in you:
- 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office and Google applications. Requires ability to build and modify templates and databases; knowledgeable with systems and formatting; ability to build spreadsheets, queries, and reports.
- Excellent time management, detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
- Experience balancing multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Able to effectively work with various functions and levels within the organization.
- Automotive Industry related experience, as plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related fields.
