Job Description

We are looking to hire someone to start with us April 2023!

The GTS Coordinator  (also known as GTS Specialist) is a critical resource and contact for information technology within the business(es) and site(s) we support. The main responsibility is to provide support for endpoint computing and core site infrastructure including the Operational Technology on the shop floor; be the Local ‘Smart hands’ (On-Call support) as well as be a champion for the adoption of digital workplace technologies. A GTS Specialist serves as an escalation point, liaison, and local business representative for issues

  • Technology advocate who clearly links technical solutions to business, shop floor, and process improvement opportunities.

  • Creates partnerships with wider Corporate IT groups to evaluate required infrastructure upgrades.

  • Acts as a liaison between IT infrastructure and process automation support personnel to ensure business expectations and communicated and delivered upon

Essential Duties

  • Manage and support endpoint devices (Laptop, desktop, mobile devices, printers, thin clients) throughout their lifecycle. Including provisioning, refresh, asset management, and decommission

  • Adhere to and promote IT policies and standards

  • Provide ‘smart-hand’ support at the site including on-call (per rotation schedule)

  • Follow ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes such as change, incident, and problem management

  • Comply with and implement SOX controls

  • Take ownership of reported issues and see issue tickets through to resolution

  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve issues

  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers

  • Be a technical advisor to management and end-users to ensure they have the proper IT equipment to be successful

  • Maintain accurate IT equipment, software, and license inventory in Asset Management Tool

  • Install, upgrade and replace selected software and hardware products according to Avery Dennison standards

  • Work closely with service vendors, other Avery Dennison IT teams, and personnel to ensure continuity of service

  • Assist in implementing best practices and Avery Dennison IT standards that will more effectively use IT resources

  • Deliver training on Avery Dennison’s software and computer systems; this can include group presentations, one-on-one training, and onboarding

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Skilled at solving challenges in a directed, methodical manner and analyzing the current issue to envision creative solutions

  • Takes initiative to complete critical tasks, especially in team settings with dependencies on other people

  • Works effectively in the face of stress, ambiguity, difficult situations, and shifting priorities

  • Good verbal, data entry, and writing skills; communicative, in speaking and writing, in local language and English

  • Flexible, initiative, self-motivated and creative in finding solutions

  • Ability to work in teams and independently

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional groups to define and implement overall requirements

  • Ability to travel to support other sites when needed; estimated 20% travel

  • Partner with process engineers to support operational technology (OT) within the manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Information Technology courses or certification(s) required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or technology field preferred

  • 0-6+ years of related experience

  • 3-5 years performing routine troubleshooting and problem resolution on computer, server, network, and telecommunication systems in remote mfg sites

  • Understanding and experience with information systems environments and systems; including Cloud-based applications like Google and function-specific software

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly valued

  • Experience working effectively with others and providing superior customer service

  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) foundation training is an asset

  • Manufacturing or Factory 4.0 experience preferred

  • Previous Experience supporting Operational Technologies (OT)

  • Understanding of applicable systems including hardware technology (server/storage), Cyber security, (MS SQL) Database, Networking technology

  • Understanding of shop floor business processes

  • Effective team builder; experience motivating multi-functional teams in an inspiring environment

  • Experience developing and carrying out business-enabling initiatives at the enterprise level.
