Job Description

Opportunity

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy at Vestcom’s service bureau locations to ensure production has the items needed to support our clients’ requests. The Warehouse Supervisor will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and the warehouse team to distribute inventory, place appropriate orders for replenishment perform all necessary transactions to keep the highest standards of inventory accuracy. 

►   Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintains the ERP software system to accurately enter and release inventory items. Must have a complete understanding of all departmental systems and procedures.
  • Maintains correct inventory records for warehouse and workflow areas. 
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies by researching inventory problems and determining the best course of action to resolve the problem and prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinates cycle counts and other inventory counts as needed.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments to insure proper procedures regarding the movement of materials offsite and internally.
  • Create material requisitions and place orders to ensure the site has materials on hand to service clients as needed.
  • Ensure the control procedures are being used for inventory control and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies and assist with maintaining the supply system.
  • Operates forklift as needed to move and pick items for shipping.
  • Maintains clean and safe work area, including dock and designated areas outside the building.
  • Ensures all forklifts are maintained and kept in good working order.
  • Ensures all shipments are completed and all packages are shipped to the correct person or place as directed by the daily job schedule or as instructed by their supervisor, job ticket or customer special instructions.
  • Communicates any problems or quality issues, due to printing, laminating, or shipping errors to the appropriate individuals.
  • Communicates with all courier companies and drivers about delays in shipping, special courier deliveries, and anything else that affects our customer deliveries.
  • Keeps all work areas safe, clean and in good condition.
  • Follows any other instructions given by supervisors and/or management to complete other tasks or projects, ensuring the objectives are accomplished accurately and within the timeframe allotted.
  • Makes suggestions for departmental procedural changes and enhancements to insure a process of continual improvement.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, develop, and conduct performance reviews for department staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Five years’ related experience in receiving, warehousing and manufacturing required with proven track record of inventory management excellence
  • Must have at least 5 years’ previous supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and be certified.
  • Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Must have previous experience in an ERP software system.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and variable work environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values.
