What we can offer you! - Your Role:

In this diverse role of high impact, we are hiring an energized, tenacious, and highly driven (Senior) PLC / Process Automation Engineer to join our Avery Dennison Smartrac team (rfid.averydennison.com) home-based - ideally close to our RFID manufacturing site in Ancarano (TE), Italy - with a direct reporting line to our Deployment Manager, Integrated Textile Solutions - Avery Dennison Smartrac

Your Mission:

  • On a daily basis, and with your technical expertise, you will support the implementation of new innovative solutions and focus on improving the performance of our operations (RFID tag production lines) to achieve production excellence by working across multiple functions and influencing others as well as by thriving for best results according to the business needs and safety and health requirements.
  • Traveling (15-20% of your time) internationally, you will collaborate cross-functionally with our teams at our manufacturing sites in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas to proactively define and develop innovative and disruptive solutions and suitable manufacturing processes for our RFID products (including HF/NFC tags, sensors, and loggers).
  • By working together with our commercial, product line management, innovation, sustainability, and platform teams you will define and manage new RFID product and process implementations including SOPs within our own organization, lead technical projects, correct electric, software, and/or mechanic malfunctions, and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • With your curiosity, creativity, and your communication skill set, you will optimize existing processes to the new now, deliver training and workshops to our employees, and take on initiatives around digitization and Industry 4.0.
  • Eventually, you will engage in (scientific) experiments on new products following all safety and health regulations, recommend required equipment / capital purchases, and participate in various innovation projects.

Qualifications

What we expect from you! - Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Electrical / Automation & Control Engineering, or related (electro-)technical background
  • Previous work experience of 3+ years with major applications of Process Automation disciplines (Siemens or Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC programming skills), both on Hardware, Software, and documentation aspects
  • Ability to champion projects and process change both cross functionally and vertically within the organization
  • Project management experience and familiarity with training on new technologies/ process
  • Passion and interest in RFID technology (including sensors, loggers, and NFC) are welcome
  • Strong communication skills (English, and ideally Italian) 
  • Creativity and innovation, entrepreneurial spirit for growing a sustainable business to set your career at Avery Dennison
