Job Description

Employee Development & Management

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the team and responsible for team leadership and tasks such as: attendance/vacation schedule, claims, training coaching and development.

  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors. 

  • Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.

  • Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.

  • Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.

  • Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations.  Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

  • Act as a team role model and change-agent.

  • Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.

  • Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.

Operations

  • Oversee that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures. 

  • Furnish reports as needed to forecast estimates and schedules related to inventory, distribution, transportation, and/or production.

  • Review effectiveness of operating procedures, maintenance, space utilization, and protection of equipment. 

  • Support, assist, and complete analyses; analyze information for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure supervised department meets daily/annual goals.  Assess and suggest new procedures and processes to increase efficiency.

  • Work with other functions to identify opportunities to improve the process effectiveness and improvement plan. 

  • Perform various activities to backup and maintain the flow of work in the department.  Ensure staff is focused on process improvement.

  • Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives.

  • Ensure maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean environment. 

  • Actively participate in training to expand technical skills and improve services provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or related field.   

  • 3+ years SML or related experience.  Supervisory or Lead experience preferred.  

  • Proficient understanding of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics and all related focus areas.

  • Excellent analytical skills. 

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.  

  • Good project management and business partnering skills.

  • Green Belt or ELS certification preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of Spanish and English
