Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Business Development Manager to join the Graphics Solutions organization. In this role, you will engage with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), dealerships, and a variety of partners, for the purpose of identifying, evaluating, and executing Graphics’ new business opportunities within the Automotive Aftermarket and Corporate Branding segments. You will play a lead role in the development of strategic and tactical business plans to accelerate the growth of window films, paint protection films, wrapping films and digital print films for Avery Dennison’s Graphics business. A successful hire for this position will demonstrate success in finding opportunities and building our pipeline for graphic materials used primarily in the Automotive Aftermarket and Corporate Branding segments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Map the different routes to market and programs needed to attract dealerships and OEMs to spec in our products
  • Approach, cross-sell, and spec-in automotive paint protection film, supreme wrapping film, and window film products, and initiate large scale project with the relevant target audience
  • Champion new valuable services within the corporate branding segment to dealerships, growing stickiness with these customers
  • Formulate the business models and success stories that could be then duplicated by the graphics sales team
  • Craft joint ventures with potential business partners that can generate and materialize automotive aftermarket projects
  • Participate in the formulation of the marketing and promotion plan of Automotive Aftermarket and Corporate Branding segments
  • Participate in Trade shows, dealer summits, and OEM engagements to present our portfolio potential customers and partners
  • Identify strategic partnerships, build relationships and quickly work towards addressing unmet customer needs by identifying products and processes needed to meet those needs
  • Provide competitive analysis to identify new growth opportunities and execute plans to capitalize on these opportunities
  • Develop strong internal relationships with Graphics regional sales and marketing teams
  • Work with product management and extended internal team to ensure appropriate product portfolio and positioning
  • Act as voice of customer for all external sales encouraging the resource needs of the external market
  • Support market/product development initiatives including customer trials, promotional activities, trade shows
  • Report on industry trends, develop a process to communicate segment/fleet insights to commercial team which can be used to make valuable contributions at strategic converters
  • Partner with Sales to transition business development account activities during commercialization
  • Understand and communicate the decision-making process from owned, leased and rented vans and personal vehicles, including how the materials selection process is made

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 6+ years business development, sales, product management, marketing or other directly related experience
  • Consistent record of developing sales and sales pipeline
  • A rounded understanding and relationships or familiarity of dealership and the automotive OEM landscape
  • General knowledge of how decisions are made with key end users
  • Demonstrated successful related experience in a position that involves negotiating sophisticated transactions with upper-level management positions or similar experience
  • Skilled in conducting required territory analysis and planning
  • Validated negotiation skills/experience
  • Strong financial skills an eye for business
  • Skilled in preparing professional written proposals
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team.
  • 60-70% Travel required
