Job Description

As the HR Manager reporting to the Regional HR Director, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all HR related topics for our operations, commercial, and functional teams in that location. Based in our site located in Soignies, you will support our employee base of 570 employees and be a key member of the Soignies leadership team, partnering with commercial, operations and finance leadership in the site. You and your HR team will be responsible for developing and implementing specific people strategies in the business and functional areas. Payroll coordination and employee general inquiry will be managed by a regional HR shared services team, who you will partner with in order to ensure a positive employee experience.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Model and promote the Corporation's values and ethics. Act honestly, ethically and honorably, complying with all Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct & country legislation.
  • An important part of the activities will be centred around industrial relations and the social dialogue: working with the local works council and union representatives
  • Partner with the local leadership teams to support the change effort that will link business performance to individual performance. Build strong relationships across all staff levels.
  • Develop, implement and lead efforts to improve organizational effectiveness and employee well being. Set and drive initiatives for solving complex people/team related challenges (eg values-driven, high-performing culture) using OD, design methods, processes and tools to identify issues and implement solutions. 
  • Collaborate with the local leadership team to create an annual operational plan (AOP) for the HR function (both in terms of headcount and costs) to ensure the needed resources for delivering the budgeted annual business levels. Ensures all HR related decisions reflect the financial parameters agreed within AOP and are consistent with company values.
  • Manage and lead the HR team, including performance appraisals, delegating work, meeting completion dates and ensuring consistent and quality work
  • Participate in Corporate-wide teams and initiatives concerning HR issues. 

Qualifications

  • 20+ years experience as HR Generalist and at least 5+ years experience as HR Supervisor, including general knowledge on employment laws (Legal), HR procedures and practices.
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Thorough understanding of and proven experience within the Belgian framework of social dialogue and industrial relations, experience with social negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills, effective communication with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Results and data-oriented, detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggling multiple initiatives. Skilled in multitasking, organizing and prioritizing work
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately; unquestioned ethics, having a professional/corporate attitude and approach
  • Excellent organizational and people skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner
  • Strong customer focus orientation
  • Fluent in French and English (Good knowledge of Dutch strongly preferred)
