Job Description

Mission

Provide commercial leadership and direction across the Performance Tapes - North America (PTNA) organization to successfully grow our industrial tape sales. This role is passionate about , leading and coaching our North American sales organization to higher levels of performance.

Key Details:

  • You will report to the VP/GM of Performance Tapes - North America(PTNA) and be a key member of the PTNA Leadership Team
  • You will lead a commercial team that includes: US Sales, including regional and strategic account managers, Mexico regional sales, and inside sales
  • Develop a vision and strategy for the steady improvement of our sales organization
  • Build and execute effective sales operations processes to steadily improve the team's performance
  • Work closely with our marketing team to develop and execute segment and customer engagement plans
  • Coaching and developing of the commercial team
  • Work collaboratively with our internal team to take in voice of customer as we look to improve our performance across quality, service, cost and product performance
  • Develop and execute appropriate business and customer plans through our annual and strategic planning processes
  • Develop personal relationships with major clients and be the primary leadership contact point
  • The role will require significant customer travel averaging at least 50%

Critical Objectives & Outcomes

  • Lead PTNA’s efforts in developing a world class sales organization aligned to exceeding our business objectives
  • Use salesforce.com and disciplined processes to accelerate the rate of improvement in our commercial performance
  • Use data and analytics to identify areas of greatest opportunity for the commercial team to focus
  • Ensure the effective execution of key divisional growth platforms. Identify and close gaps in strategy development, deployment, execution and reflection
  • Develop, improve or maintain an effective system of metrics, scorecards and reviews to assure strategies and projects are aligned with business needs
  • Year over year sales growth in Industrial Tapes

Skills Required:

  • Sales management processes such as Miller Heiman Consultative, Strategic and Large Account Selling; SPIN selling techniques or equivalent
  • Experienced user of salesforce.com
  • Experience in leading medium/large complex sales organizations
  • Experience in creating and executing high impact customer presentations
  • Ability to direct and coach business development activity
  • Ability to lead and influence people across all functions and all levels in a matrix organization
  • Ability to champion new business ventures. This will require excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view
  • Propensity to develop robust teams and attract top talent

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, Engineering or Science discipline preferred

  • MBA or Advanced Technical Degree preferred

  • At least 15 years of applicable industry experience
