Job Description

The GWO Specialist is responsible for executing primarily on Payroll, Data & Reporting, and other HR services, utilizing an in-depth understanding of relevant systems, processes and policies. The position will ensure the integrity of the employee data which resides in the payroll and other related systems. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Day-to-day operation of payroll related tasks, working closely with Avery Dennison & its outsourced payroll partner(s) as applicable to ensuring quality inputs and outputs

  • End to end administration of the payroll through collecting payroll input from business leaders; reconciling time & attendance systems to payroll reconciliation and payment.

  • Support local HR, managers and employees with payroll and HR processes

  • Research complex payroll and timekeeping issues. Provide resolution to payroll team, HR, and department leadership

  • Provide analysis, testing, and training as needed to support department initiatives.

  • Perform detailed checking and analysis to ensure accurate & on time payment to employees and relevant statutory authorities.

 

Data & Reporting 

  • Provide advice on standard suite of reports to field HR, Managers and other stakeholders 

  • Handle and develop non-standard reports requested through the service delivery platform

  • Drive increased productivity and compliance through process improvements, standardization and simplification with external partners and businesses

  • Acts as an IT liaison for HR/Payroll business processes and makes recommendations for systems automation activities and continuous efficiency improvements

  • Partnering with Finance and ensuring that payments (salaries, statutory and third-party) are executed accurately and within the required timeframes.

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality to ensure compliance with relevant legal and Avery Dennison policy requirements

  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills and proactive communication

  • Provide ad-hoc operational support for assigned processes

  • Documents all HRIS, Payroll, and master database process flows and updates as process, vendors and applications are revised

  • Ensures efficiency of the technology in the support of employee transaction processes

  • Handles internal and external audit work and ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls where applicable

  • Ensures payroll and associated processed are delivered accurately and on time, every time

Employee Inquiry Support

  • Assisting with and becoming an expert at resolving employee inquiries

  • Preparing and creating the necessary data & documentation for processing changes into the HR System 

  • Respond to questions on administrative HR procedures and practices via multiple channels within Servicenow (e. g., email, phone, chat, and case management system)

  • Answer HR -related questions, provide guidance to both managers and employees, and escalate as appropriate

  • Educate employees of services available to them and encourage self-service tools and other systems

  • Ensure high-quality standards for all GWO activities, initiatives, and tasks within designated areas of responsibility, adhering to all service-level agreements established by the GWO organization

  • Identify outdated knowledge articles and/or the need to create new knowledge articles

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree from a relevant field of study (Graduate / Post Graduate with Specialization in HR)

  • 5 to 10 Year experience in HR/payroll preferably from HRshared services background handling an end to end payroll within a manufacturing environment

  • Solid and in-depth understanding of labour legislation & payroll rules within the country of support.

  • Advanced excel experience and ability to handle large sets of data and reports

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Understands HR processes, needs and functions. Accurately and effectively communicates stakeholder needs to bridge the gap between HR responsibilities/needs and systems development

  • Ability to generate a sense of urgency with understanding of when to escalate issues

  • Ability to handle diverse and confidential information requiring extreme accuracy, independent judgment and discretion

  • Ability to document processes and make recommendations for improvements

  • Flexibility and the willingness to cover other tasks as needed, and adapt to ongoing changes

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data

  • Maintains confidentiality and applies discretion where required

  • Service orientated and passionate about enhancing the employee experience
