Job Description

Position Overview:

The position of the Corporate Financial Reporting Manager will be part of a team that oversees the Company’s SEC filings and other external financial reporting compliance.  This position will be responsible for the analysis and reporting of various technical accounting areas and related internal control processes in collaboration with various functions, regions and business units of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and ensure accuracy and compliance of consolidated financial reports to management, shareholders and the SEC.  These reports include press release financials, annual reports and SEC filings (forms 10-Q and 10-K)
  • Perform quality reviews of reported results from both domestic and international units and, when necessary, advise them on U.S. GAAP and effective usage and continuous improvement of the accounting and reporting systems and procedures
  • Analyze and research technical areas of accounting and financial reporting based on changes in the business and consultations with businesses and other corporate functions
  • Prepare consolidated cash flow statement and applicable supporting analyses
  • Prepare quarterly U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting for the company’s domestic and foreign pension and post-retirement plans
  • Supervise analysis of the Company’s monthly and quarterly goodwill and intangible assets reporting
  • Perform annual goodwill impairment testing, including review of staff analyses
  • Support accounting and reporting for business combinations and strategic investments
  • Coordinate activities with external valuation specialist in support of goodwill impairment testing and valuations related to business combinations
  • Critically review quarterly press releases and investor webcast presentations
  • Liaise with investor relations and business units to author management’s discussion & analysis 
  • Provide support to external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits
  • Supervise and train reporting staff, including reviews of their deliverables as well as leading and initiating education opportunities
  • Support other SEC compliance reporting, including annual proxy statement and Form 8-K
  • Support department’s coordination efforts to achieve full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • Provide support for special projects, including supporting M&A activities, as needed

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA a plus

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting / domestic and international, public accounting experience preferable
  • 3 years supervisory or management experience preferred
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management experience preferred
  • Active licensed CPA required

Other:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word), Google Sheets and Docs a plus
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles / US GAAP, pension accounting experience desired
  • Ability to work independently, while involving others as required, and within a team environment in a multinational organization
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
