If you want to make a difference, we are seeking a Product Compliance Specialist to join our team.  This critical role is focused on product compliance for our North American region with diverse activities to support business operations. This opportunity includes supporting our customers directly, in addition to customer service, sales, marketing, and product development functions with compliance information, documents, processes, guidance, and training needed to assist them in supporting customer needs and regulatory requirements. This role also supports corporate governance by ensuring full compliance with government regulations and customer requirements for Avery Dennison products with adherence to the related current business processes and data management systems.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding compliance of products with various regulatory or customer product safety or environmental requirements.
  • Administer a database of compliance and safety information, structuring  and using it to provide applicable compliance information to customers on company products.
  • Communicate with raw material or component suppliers to obtain current compliance data related to  products and/or coordinate product safety testing of products as needed to satisfy regulatory requirements or customer needs.
  • Participate in new product development processes and provide compliance guidance to product development teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to cross functional groups such as R&D, product development, marketing, customer service, and procurement regarding compliance issues and initiatives.
  • Support strategic initiatives to leverage compliance to differentiate products and enhance competitive edge, including tracking and updating business on new product compliance and safety developments
  • Execute product compliance testing by working with internal and external customers. Gather estimates, confirm funding, create purchase orders, collect samples from Avery Dennison locations and collaborate with testing facilities to create methods as needed.
  • Lead training of internal and external stakeholders on compliance topics as needed.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

 

Experience: 

  • Demonstrated data management ability, able to obtain, organize, and understand complex and large amounts of data using leading data management systems and tools.
  • Previous experience in compliance management preferred, preferably in product compliance or product stewardship.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete projects and assignments, exercising frequent independent judgment, initiative, and tact. Excellent time-management, organizational and project management skills are a must.
  • Experience in handling highly confidential matters.
  • Proficiency of applicable computer systems and demonstrated ability to effectively learn and use function specific software.
