The  RFID integration innovation lead,  will lead research in the RFID area identifying and defining the technical nature and significance of assignments, evaluate research results and provide recommendations to senior management.   

SCOPE:  

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field.  General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction.  Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.  Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
  • Guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.  Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.  Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: 

  • Show depth and breadth of knowledge in technology capabilities and how it fits into the scheme of a global setting. 
  • Lead effort in competitive intelligence to determine what competitors are doing. Exhibit leadership and direction with high visibility projects, assimilate new technology and relay to managers. 
  • Demonstrate overall added value to Avery Dennison’s technology and business functions.  Transmit complex technical concepts to others in “layman’s” terms.
  • Identify development opportunities based on business strategies and implement these. Identify fatal flaws. 
  • Understand product, customer demand and interface. Provide recommendations for capital purchase, equipment. Interact with outside development partners as needed. Lead cross-functional and divisional projects.
  • Summarize critical results and observations. Propose next experimentation. Write in-depth technical reports. Orally present findings to team and management. Write project plans for multi-functional set of experiments. Write technical papers for internal and external publication as deemed appropriate. Write proposals. 
  • Generate new ideas for products. Use business strategies. Leverage internal/ external experts in network to accomplish goals. 
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects. Write project plan based on project objective. Assign specific tasks and lead project (plan, delegate, follow through). Determine resources, actions and timelines for project. Make recommendations to terminate a project due to feasibility issues.  Propose project budget.
  • Lead technology transfer activities (coordinate and delegate activities). Understand and articulate how emerging technologies can be applied to new products.
  • Arrange preparation of sample materials. Initiate (in- or external) lab tests, pilot-plant, production, and field trials.  Develop new test methods which could be internally or externally executed.  Apply technical expertise including Six Sigma tools and have full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Delegate, coach, train and retain employees. 

Qualifiche

  • knowledge/ Experience of RFID technology
  • Excellent in English
  • graduation in engineering (preferred in electronic) or software engineering
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of engineering concepts, practices and procedures related to design and development; high-volume manufacturing processes, design and set-up; new product launches; continuous improvements in product quality and costs; incorporating advancements in technology to product design and manufacturing.
