Job Description

Avery Dennison Performance Tapes has an immediate opening for an experienced Supply Chain professional to fulfill the role of Master Production Scheduler. This role will report into the Materials Manager and will be responsible for the ongoing scheduling activities to support the business unit, as well as FG inventory management. Additionally, you will own key initiatives and projects focused on improving service, scheduling and planning as it affects the business unit.

In this important role you will be responsible for: 

  • Daily scheduling for assigned assets to optimize customer requested dates, campaigns and manufacturing capacity.

  • Works with customer service, sales, supply chain as needed to resolve customer order issues.

  • Provides machine capacity planning as needed to support the business. Identify and communicate bottleneck areas and provide assistance to balance over / under capacity situations

  • Provides leadership for FG management to minimize obsolescence and improve inventory turns

  • Participates in physical inventory process

  • Reviews stock programs and works with division resources to adjust planning parameters as necessary.

  • Daily management and reporting of metrics including stocking levels, and capacity

  • Lead projects to implement pull planning, FG inventory management, service improvements

  • Provide support for product transitions and new product introductions.

  • Consistently works in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Performs general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.

  • Reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to positively impact product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process. Supports safety, quality, and enterprise lean sigma improvement initiatives.

  • Assists and supports other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participates and shares in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contributes and participates in team decision-making. Provides support in project work and other special requests.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 3+ years previous scheduling, planning, or Supply Chain experience required

  • Ability to build relationships with all functions and levels of the organization

  • Results oriented focus and ability to take ownership to problem solve.

  • Flexibility and willingness to initiate change.

  • High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and meet customer needs.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.

  • Ability to use Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) problem solving tools to identify root cause. (A3 Thinking)

  • Proficient in process documentation and improvement.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Google Suite and planning/business systems (MFG/Pro).
