Job Description

As a  Digital Solutions Product Manager you are responsible for vision, strategy, and delivering to market of new innovative digital solutions targeted for RBIS’s customers in the apparel industry.  You will blend business and technical acumen in developing a digital product portfolio that creates value for Avery Dennison and it’s customers. You will develop new solution concepts and evolve existing solutions to meet market requirements, and you will own solution definition and roadmaps.

You will work in collaboration with sales/commercial and business development teams in support of sales and marketing efforts and to assess market and customer requirements, priorities, and competitive positioning.   You will work with program management and software development teams to manage cost, complexity and schedule tradeoffs, and ensure development teams understand product vision and use cases in delivering solutions that meet market and customer requirements.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding apparel market trends with particular focus on digital transformation, including customers’ digital initiatives and competitive landscape
  • Defining and managing solutions roadmaps encompassing user experience, software, and services in positioning AD as market leaders
  • Working with software development teams to communicate the product vision, clarify use cases and requirements, and resolve questions and issues that arise during development
  • Developing and delivering presentations for internal and external audiences, including education and training of sales staff, training of support teams, and presentations with customer accounts
  • Engaging with customers for business opportunities, to present product vision and roadmap, understand customer requirements, and to provide support for commercial/sales teams

Qualifications

  • BS/MS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree 
  • 7+ years of product management experience for digital and/or software solutions
  • Demonstrated success in owning and delivering SaaS and other digital solutions to market, with responsibility for managing multiple products/solutions simultaneously 
  • Well versed in Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to make quick assessments and decision making to balance competing priorities in face of constraints and ambiguity
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work across a matrixed organization
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Ability to be effective in working remotely and engaging with stakeholders via virtual meetings
  • Ability to travel 25%
