Job Description

The SML Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all shipping operations to assure on-time order delivery at lowest cost per MSI shipped, exceeding customer expectations. SML Coordinator will provide a variety of support services in accordance with standard procedures to the Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics function. Base Hourly Rate: $19.58 with a Shift Differential of $1.00 when working an off shift.  This position will work B Shift.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in freight cost reduction efforts.

  • Monitor status of order scheduled to ship; facilitate & prioritize shipping process.

  • Execute shipping schedule; coordinate with Fasson Fleet, truckload and LTL carriers.

  • Arrange shipment of outbound loads with carriers.

  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Scheduling, Division Transportation and Production as need on Expedites/late orders, shipping requirements and paperwork discrepancies.

  • Process shipping documents and generate shipping reports.

  • Maintain data integrity within AS400B, Mfg Pro, PC systems etc.

  • Act as liaison with Division Transportation, Materials Planner, NRC, Fleet, Carriers, DC’s.

  • Actively participate in inventory activities.

  • Support export & international business.

  • Daily resolution to orders and shipment order status exception report.

  • Prepare outbound shipments, packing lists, and commercial and pro forma invoices for international shipments.

  • Make timely and accurate shipment transactions in all pertinent inventory control and financial systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Knowledge of motor carrier operations desired.

  • 1-3 Years manufacturing experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills & paperwork accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrated participation in key projects & initiatives.

  • Ability to perform detailed analysis & present data driven solutions.

  • Demonstrated strong in-house systems skills—AS400, Mfg Pro, and PC

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

  • Ability to effectively interact with plants, division, and carriers.

  • Ability to be flexible in working hours to meet the needs of internal/external customers.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks under tight time constraints.

  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in the following programs: Microsoft Excel and Word.
