You will join Avery Dennison LGM (Labels and Graphic Materials) team that produces print receptive coatings. You will help develop new coatings by supporting the technical leader through producing scaled and analytical laboratory work.  Your task will include:

• Synthesis and characterization of polymers on a lab scale

• Analyze physical and chemical properties according to the project test protocols.

• Perform application tests to correlate performance of the final product with polymer structure.

• Following a Bachelor/Master degree in Chemistry or Polymer Engineering with a focus on the synthesis and materials characterization is preferred.

• Highly motivated and creative thinkers. 

• Prior lab experience in laboratory synthesis of organic molecules and polymers.

• Ability to perform tests on the major instrument techniques such as FTIR, GPC.

• Able to conduct lab experiments independently with minimal supervision.

• Be safety-oriented, a fast learner and thoroughly follow established experimental protocols.

• Strongly proactive and communicative!

• Work and reporting will be done in English, Dutch is a plus.

Earliest start date is the 14th September 2020. Available for 6 months, working for 5 days a week. You will be based in our European HQ in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands.
