Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller

  • Overseeing all month/quarter end closing activities, & reviewing variances

  • Working closely with country/regional financial to overlook Balance sheet reconciliations and exceptional items. 

  • Work with country finance teams to resolve accounting issues

  • Monitor the performance of the outsourced finance team in China and India

  • Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.

  • Ensuring that countries are following Company’s accounting policy and processes

  • Manage and support all audit activities both internal and external.

  • Monitor and manage the SOX compliance in both HK and China

  • Liaise with internal and external parties such as legal, tax  and auditors to support various regulatory compliance

  • Supervise sub-ordinates, provide training, coaching and development to team members

  • Implementing controls and operation policies and provide training to business and local / outsourced finance team

  • Participate in system implementation as required

  • Drive process improvement and standardization

  • Perform ad-hoc assignments if required

  • Scope : 50% time for SA countries & rest for China/Hongkong/SEA

Qualifications

Requirement:

  • Degree holder in Finance and professional qualifications within a recognized professional body

  • Minimum of 7-8 years financial accounting experience with prior external audit background in Big 4s

  • Experience in managing outsourced finance function and business process improvement will be highly appreciated

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX is preferred

  • Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy and conscious of meeting deadlines

  • Solid people coaching experience required

  • Good leadership and ability to monitor the finance operation 

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills in English, and Mandarin is a plus

  • 20% travelling to Bangladesh/China/Hongkong
