Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE 

As an Automation & Controls lead, you will be leading engineering improvements and be an expert in the PLC and Control system for the machinery in the Bangi plant.You will provide engineering support during machine breakdown, carrying out TPM activities on machinery control systems and providing maintenance services across Avery sites whenever required.You will act as a Subject Matter Expert and would participate in machine troubleshooting & projects across ASEAN sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritize Safety awareness on daily basis and ensure Zero Recordable Injury in all engineering activities.
  • Providing technical support in machine problem solving and upgrading activities - troubleshooting & machine improvement initiatives.
  • Timely report writing and recording in maintenance reports for repair works done, monitoring of engineering equipment and upkeep of electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Upkeep of PLC programs and ensures hardware upgrades are deployed to minimize obsolescence.
  • Record, report and arrange Spare Part Inventory storage areas. Employ & maintain an inventory system to ensure no zero level situations. 
  • Providing support to travel to other Avery sites, advise on engineering repair work conditions and carry out preventive maintenance duties as planned in other Avery sites.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation studies.
  • Related hands-on experience with minimum 6 years in Siemens PLC system and working knowledge in control systems.
  • Relevant working experience with minimum 5 years in electrical power maintenance/ project management
  • Good verbal and written communication skills among all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on ability to work through symptoms and get to root cause.
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
