Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Team Manager for our night shift within our Vancive Medical Technologies business in Mentor, OH. You will directly supervise manufacturing employees within assigned area in order to observe work, adjust schedules to meet unforeseen situations, and control load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement operations improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training, inventory, and services.
  • Analyze and draw information for daily operational needs and improvement for the team. Provide prompt problem solving for key issues, driving through from root cause identification to problem resolution.
  • Responsible for key operational measures within business unit (service, quality, efficiency, cost, and safety).
  • Drive improvement strategies in all key metric areas; lead production flow, staffing schedule, and resources to budget and plan.
  • Implement / ensure standard methodologies and SOPs are followed.
  • Lead improvement activities, 5S, housekeeping, and recycling programs. Lead the efforts to build a safety conscious environment; be actively involved in safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to problem solve and develop improved manufacturing processes.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations.
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and non-conformances as required.
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and people.
  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are completed and communicated.
  • Perform general management duties, exercising authority concerning staffing needs, training needs, performance appraisals, skill development, timekeeping, consistent application of organizational policies, promotions, and terminations.
  • Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with concentration in engineering, operations management, or related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment is helpful.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills: ability to achieve operational results through delegation and teamwork.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and effectively problem-solve issues and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback, coach, support, and develop a diverse group of individuals.

Hours for this position are Monday - Thursday, 9 PM - 7 AM EST.
